Watch Lube’s full review of the Tezenis Black 40 Denier Tights. In this video she tries on a pair of tights from Tezenis, ordered in her usual size M, and shares her honest first impressions from the moment she opened the packaging to wearing them with two different outfits.
The first thing Lube addresses is a genuine surprise about the colour. Although the packaging appeared to show black tights and she ordered what she believed to be black, the tights she received turned out to be a skin or sand tone rather than black. She notes that the packaging even carries the description “invisible effect,” which helped explain the colour choice, but she was still caught off guard by how different they looked compared to her expectation.
She goes on to describe the key construction and finish details she noticed during the try-on:
- 40 denier: described as very covering and a notably dense fabric
- Seamless construction: no visible seam running along the leg, replaced by a fabric transition between the upper brief section and the leg
- Reinforced toe: the foot area features a strengthened tip for added durability
- Sheen: a slight luminosity is visible, consistent with the 40 den weight
- Opacity: highly opaque, close to a matte coverage
Lube tries the tights with two looks. The first is a red backless mini dress, where the sand tone of the tights reads very close to her natural skin, making them nearly invisible against her leg. She finds the effect very natural in direct light but admits that depending on the lighting and angle, it is possible to tell she is wearing hosiery at all. She had imagined a completely different, bolder look with black tights under that dress, so the result left her a little disappointed.
For the second outfit she pairs the tights with a classic black dress in a velvet-like texture with partially open back and double straps. She feels this combination works considerably better, as the neutral tone of the tights complements the overall sober, polished look. She adds coloured shoes to bring a pop of contrast and concludes that this second styling is her clear preference of the two.
On quality, Lube is quite positive despite the colour confusion. She repeatedly notes that the tights feel well made and durable, which she attributes largely to the 40 denier weight. The seamless leg construction impressed her, and the reinforced toe adds to the sense of longevity compared to sheerer, finer styles. She observes that thicker, denser tights of this kind tend to last longer than lighter alternatives.
Her overall verdict is mixed in a straightforward way: the quality is clearly good, but she would have strongly preferred to wear them in a true black, which is her personal go-to for coloured tights. She suggests that anyone who enjoys natural, skin-tone hosiery will likely find these a solid buy, while those expecting an opaque black should check the colour description on the packaging very carefully before ordering. She bought size M and found the fit satisfactory.
