Mora Black Stockings with Seam Review | Marine x Es Glamísima!

Watch Marine’s full review of the Mora black tights with back seam, from the brand’s Trendy line, filmed for Es Glamísima. In this review Marine from Buenos Aires tests the fit, the finish and the styling range of a pair whose entire character rests on one very fine detail.

Mora is an Argentinian institution rather than a new arrival. Marine points out that the brand has been around long enough that her mother and grandmother wore it, and that expectation of consistent domestic quality is what drew her to the Trendy collection in the first place. She ordered size 3/4 in black, and while she notes the sizing runs smaller than the label suggests, the fit on her is snug and precise.

The defining feature is the seam line running down the back of the leg, a direct nod to the vintage stockings of the thirties and forties. Marine admits her first reaction out of the packaging was mild disappointment, since she had pictured a thicker, more visible line. Once on the leg, she completely reverses that judgement: the thinness is what makes it work, reading as a refined detail rather than a costume element.

What Marine highlights about this pair:

  • Fine back seam running the full length of the leg, subtle rather than theatrical
  • Opaque reinforced brief section at the top, with a finer knit from the thigh down
  • Semi-sheer leg that sits between opaque and transparent, enough to let her tattoos show through
  • Cotton gusset, which she singles out as a detail she appreciates
  • Excellent stitching and a knit that feels built to last well beyond a few wears
  • Snug fit that grips the leg without sagging anywhere

The first outfit is where the whole concept lands. Marine pairs the tights with a fringed black skirt full of movement that she describes as pure Charleston, a black and gold sparkling top cut open across the back to show her tattoos, and black heeled ankle boots with gold hardware to tie it together. The vintage logic of the seam and the vintage logic of the fringing meet in the middle, and she is unequivocal that this is the look the tights were made for: elegant dinners, theatre, a jazz club, a proper night out.

The second outfit deliberately tests the opposite end of the range. A cotton tank top, a sheer micro-tulle skirt with violet detailing from Kill Star, and the same boots produce something darker and considerably more casual, wearable for a relaxed dinner or even during the day with a layer on top. It works, but she says openly that it cannot compete with the first, and that these tights lean towards evening wear because of how fine and dressy they read.

Her one real complaint is practical rather than aesthetic. Getting the back seam to sit perfectly straight is fiddly, especially with nobody around to check the line from behind, and it takes patience and repeated adjustment before it settles. It is the price of the design, and she flags it clearly for anyone considering the model.

Her conclusion is firmly positive on quality. The Trendy range may be conservative in terms of design variety, with a fairly limited catalogue of models to choose from, but the construction, the seams and the fabric quality more than justify the purchase, and she expects this pair to outlast the average. Versatile enough for almost any outfit thanks to the restraint of the seam, at their best after dark.
