Cottelli Legwear Black Hold-Up Stockings Review by Honey

Watch Honey’s full review of the Cottelli Legwear black hold-up stockings. In this Glamissima video review, Honey tests the fit, pattern, comfort and overall quality of these patterned hold-ups.

Honey reviews the black hold-up stockings by Cottelli Legwear, a brand she had already tested in a previous review dedicated to a pair of tights featuring a similar Renaissance-inspired pattern. She enjoyed that first experience so much that she decided to experiment again, this time with a hold-up version in a classic black colorway.

Straight out of the packaging, the stockings reveal a wide floral lace band at the top, which turns out to be one of the most distinctive elements of the design. The raised pattern, however, is concentrated mostly on the back of the leg; on the front there is only a small decorative band near the top, rather than a motif running down the whole length. The denier is quite light, giving the stockings a sheer and delicate look on the leg.

Honey tries the hold-ups in a size 4 and pairs them first with a red dress for a deliberate contrast, then with a flowy black dress and black shoes, a combination she finds decidedly more convincing. Since the dresses are on the longer side, she points out that these hold-ups would probably shine best with a shorter or more floaty outfit, where the lace band and the pattern have a chance to be seen.

Key details from the review:

  • Wide floral lace band at the top, the most visible design element
  • Raised Renaissance-style pattern, mostly on the back of the leg
  • Light denier with a sheer finish
  • Reinforced toe with a visible seam
  • Size 4 tested, with a comfortable and accurate fit
  • No snags or damage when putting them on

In terms of wearability, Honey has no complaints: the size 4 fits well, the stockings are comfortable throughout the shoot and they survive the try-on without any runs or damage, despite the light fabric. Her main criticism concerns the pattern itself, which turns out to be far more subtle on the leg than the packaging photo suggests. The design is almost more visible on the lace band than on the stocking, and the darker shading around the ankle area partially hides the motif on the back.

Her final verdict is honest and measured: a cute product, but nothing that truly impressed her. She expected a bit more based on the packaging, and she is curious to test other models from the Cottelli Legwear range to see if they deliver a bolder result.

In this video Honey was pregnant in her 8th month.
