Falke Seidenglatt 15den Black Hold-Ups Review by Gina

Watch Gina’s full review of the Falke Seidenglatt 15 denier hold-ups in black. In this Glamissima video review, Gina tests the fit, comfort and overall quality of this hosiery model, and this is also her debut on the channel as our new presenter.

Falke is one of the most established names in European legwear. The German family-run company has been producing hosiery since the late nineteenth century and has built its reputation on yarn quality and finishing rather than on flashy design. The Seidenglatt line sits exactly in that tradition: a plain sheer construction where everything is decided by how the knit behaves on the leg.

The model reviewed here is a 15 denier hold-up in black. It is fully transparent with a soft sheen, subtle enough to read as classic rather than glossy. Gina chose size S and, as she explains at the start of the video, went for black because it is the shade she finds most elegant and easiest to match with anything already in the wardrobe.

The review opens with the packaging. Gina takes the stockings out of the box so the fabric can be seen properly, and the first observation concerns the yarn itself: it feels notably soft to the touch, with no stiffness. The toe is only lightly finished, with no heavy reinforcement, which is consistent with the declared 15 denier and keeps the stocking usable with open shoes. The top band is the other detail worth attention: a wide French-style floral lace, backed on the inside by a silicone non-slip strip.

The first try-on look pairs the hold-ups with a skirt, in an outfit Gina frames as suitable for the office and for everyday wear. This is where the grip is tested in practice, and the band holds its position without sliding down the thigh. She also shows how the lace can be pulled slightly higher or lower depending on how much of it you want to leave visible under the hem, which is the kind of adjustment that decides whether the look reads as discreet or deliberate.

The second look moves the same stockings into evening territory. A shiny gold dress leaves the leg exposed and puts both the lace band and the silky finish of the yarn in full view. The effect is more assertive than the first outfit, and Gina points out how the sheer black visually lengthens the leg under a reflective fabric.

Here is what stands out from the review:

  • The finish is silky and slightly glossy, and it sits very evenly on the skin
  • The yarn is soft, with a toe that is not reinforced in an intrusive way
  • The French floral lace band is wide, and the silicone grip works as intended
  • The fit in size S is accurate, with no sagging at the thigh
  • The same pair covers two very different registers, from office to evening

There is no single verdict to hand down here, because the two looks pull in opposite directions and Gina herself asks viewers which one they prefer. What the review does establish is that the build quality is visible without needing a close-up: the knit is even, the band is well constructed, and nothing about the pair betrays a compromise on materials.

Gina also styles these hold-ups with a lingerie outfit in an extended version available to Glamissima Patreon members.
