Watch Micaela’s full review of the Machiavellica Patterned Fishnet Stockings. In this video Micaela is joined by a second presenter, Felicia, and together they compare two variations of patterned fishnet stockings from the same brand, both tried on and styled in real time.
Both pairs arrive in simple plastic packaging with a cardboard insert inside. The stockings are one size fits all, which is typical for this category. Both presenters note that the fabric stretches a great deal, making them suitable for a wide range of body types. The elastic waistband on one pair is finished with a lace trim, while the other has a plain elastic band. Neither waistband felt like it dug in or slipped down during wear.
The two designs share a fishnet construction but differ in their pattern. One features an elongated diamond or rhombus pattern, which both presenters agree is particularly flattering and leg-lengthening. The other has a slightly more open, finer mesh. One pair feels noticeably softer to the touch and a little thinner, while the second pair feels somewhat thicker and has stronger elastic recovery, meaning the fabric springs back more firmly when stretched.
Key observations from the review include:
- Diamond pattern: described as strongly leg-lengthening and elegant on both presenters
- Waistband: one pair has a lace-trimmed edge, the other a plain elastic, both comfortable
- Toe reinforcement: present on both pairs, described as neat and fairly reinforced, though not heavily so
- Fabric weight: one pair is noticeably finer and softer, the other slightly thicker with stronger snap-back
- Open toes with open-toe shoes: the toe area is light enough that toes show through with open sandals
- Closed gusset panel: both pairs have a denser woven panel at the front and back, noted as a feature that could allow wear without underwear under a dress
Comfort across both pairs was rated positively. The open fishnet construction keeps them feeling airy and cool, which both presenters said they appreciated given the warm conditions during filming. They added that for cooler evenings the denser-mesh variation would be more appropriate. Neither presenter reported the mesh pattern pressing uncomfortably into the sole of the foot, which Micaela highlighted as a common issue with fishnet styles.
Micaela styled her pair for two different looks. The first was a night-out casual look pairing the stockings with a black shorts and a bandeau top, finished with high black heels. She kept the rest of the outfit simple in colour and texture, letting the stockings provide all the visual interest. The second look used a long satin skirt with the same heels for a more dressed-up, evening-party feel. Both presenters agreed the all-black combination worked well and avoided looking overloaded.
The sizing verdict is straightforward: one size stretches generously and both presenters wore them without any fit concerns. The overall recommendation leans toward evening and night-out occasions rather than daytime or summer wear. The diamond pattern in particular received enthusiastic comments for how much it visually elongates the leg, and the lace-trim waistband detail was called out as a nice finishing touch. Both pairs were described as comfortable and visually appealing once on, with the pattern looking better worn than it does flat in the packaging.
