Watch Diana’s full review of the HeleneOui Alyssa tights. This is a decorative patterned tight from the HeleneOui Fantasia line, and Diana picked them up via Amazon, receiving them in the colour azzurro (blue). They are described on the packaging as 30 denier, placing them in a medium-weight category rather than an ultra-sheer range, and they are noted as Made in Italy.
The defining feature of the Alyssa is its rear braided embroidery, a woven lace-style motif that runs up the back of the leg and continues the pattern all the way under the foot, which Diana found genuinely surprising and impressive. The front of the leg uses a sheer, veiled fabric, so you can feel the contrast in texture when you run your hand along the thigh: lace embroidery at the back and a lighter, more transparent panel at the front. There is also a floral detail worked into the design.
Diana chose size S for this review and reports that the fit was perfect for her, with the sizing running true. The tights feature a high-waist brief panel, flat seams, and a reinforced cotton gusset. The toe area is also reinforced, which Diana confirms allows the tights to be worn with enclosed shoes without discomfort.
Key points from the review:
- 30 denier weight: medium coverage, suitable for cooler evenings as well as spring wear
- Rear braided embroidery: the standout decorative feature, continuing under the foot
- Sheer front panel: creates a contrast in texture against the lace back
- High-waist brief: reinforced and comfortable across the waist
- Flat seams and reinforced toe: compatible with enclosed footwear
- Sizing: Diana found size S true to size with an excellent fit throughout the day
Diana wore the tights across two different outfits during the review: first with a blue skirt and blue heels, noting that the tights sit within the same cool blue tonal range and complement that combination well; then with a black college-style mini skirt, a feather-trimmed top and a pink cardigan for a brighter, more spring-oriented look. In both cases she felt the braided back panel was shown off to good advantage.
On comfort and durability, Diana reports that the tights caused no discomfort over an extended wear period covering an afternoon and evening. She notes a very slight pulling sensation at the stocking top area due to the reinforced mock-stocking border, but describes this as minor and not a real issue. The lace section she describes as both well-covering and resistant, better suited for cooler conditions than a purely sheer tight would be.
The one drawback Diana flags is that the central veiled panel of the brief section is more delicate than the rest of the tight. She advises removing rings and bracelets before pulling them on, particularly when drawing the fabric up over the thigh and brief area, to avoid snagging the sheer zone. Overall she rates the Alyssa as meeting and exceeding her expectations, recommending them warmly for anyone looking for a decorative, embroidered tight with genuine character.
