The box lists the composition as 82% polyamide, with the remainder made up of elastane and polypropylene. Chiara notes she personally prefers polyamide over polyester, so the material choice earns an early mark in their favour. The stockings are not self-supporting: they require a suspender belt to hold them up, and that is clearly communicated on the packaging.

At 20 denier the stockings are transparent but not excessively so, landing at what Chiara describes as just the right level of sheerness. Out of the box they feel very soft, and they do not come pre-shaped to the foot. The standout aesthetic detail is the welt, which features a single rose motif rather than a repeating pattern, giving it a more restrained, elegant look.

• Minor snag: a single small pulled thread appeared early on, though Chiara confirms it did not develop into a ladder

Chiara styled the stockings in two outfits. The first paired them with black shorts, a simple black top, and ankle boots, keeping the suspender belt mostly concealed with just the straps visible. The second look used a strapless bodycon mini dress with heels for a more evening-ready result. In both cases she kept the rest of the outfit tonal and dark so the stockings could be the focal point.

The main reservation Chiara raises is the behaviour of the rose welt design at the thigh. Because the elastication is stronger horizontally than vertically, the rose compresses and flattens when worn on fuller legs or when sitting down. She would prefer the motif to sit higher and more upright. This is a styling consideration rather than a quality defect, but it is worth bearing in mind depending on your body shape.

Overall Chiara is satisfied with the Fiore Etheris stockings and recommends them. The polyamide composition keeps them comfortable across extended wear, the foot seam is genuinely unobtrusive, and the look is elegant when styled carefully. The one practical reminder she closes with is that these are suspender belt stockings only and will not stay up without one, so make sure you have the right foundation garment before purchasing.
