Watch Chiara’s full review of the Conte Collant Modellanti. These are tights marketed under the Conte Express Shaping line, promising a Total Shaper effect, push-up action, and a sculpting band, all in a flesh-toned finish. Chiara picked them up specifically to pair with a summer dress and put them through a real-world wear test.
Before putting them on, Chiara reads through the packaging carefully. The tights are listed as 20 denier, made from 77% polyamide and 23% elastane, and are described as suitable for sensitive skin thanks to special fibres. The box also details a pressure-distribution system across the leg and shows a diagram breaking down seven distinct structural zones within the built-in shorts section.
Key observations from the wear test:
- Fit and sizing: purchased in size M at 165 cm and 60 kg; sizing ran roughly as expected
- Shaping effect: Chiara felt minimal sculpting on the front; possibly a slight lift at the back, but nothing dramatic
- Waistband: the elastic rolls and folds at the waist and is not easy to smooth back into place
- Upper section: the built-in shorts area is noticeably rigid and structured, which made the tights quite difficult to put on
- Leg section: by contrast the leg portion feels soft and does not feel compressive in wear
- Colour: slightly darker than Chiara’s skin tone, though she notes that finding a perfect match for her complexion is generally difficult
- Seam at the toe: present on both sides, with a blue and green thread used to indicate front and back
In terms of appearance, Chiara found the tights aesthetically acceptable: the leg looks neat and the sheer finish is consistent. The colour, while not a perfect skin match, reads well under clothing. The problem she ran into was practical: the structured upper section sits several centimetres below the waistline of a short skirt or dress, making the shaping band clearly visible whenever the hem rises even slightly.
The push-up and shaping claims were the main disappointment. Despite seven labelled structural zones shown on the packaging, Chiara did not feel noticeably sculpted in wear. The waistband rolling was an additional frustration, as it required repeated adjusting and did not stay flat on its own. She tried the tights with both a midi dress and a shorter skirt, and in neither case did the shaping band stay hidden.
Overall, Chiara describes herself as only partially satisfied. The tights look fine on the leg and the 20 denier sheerness is appropriate for warm-weather outfits, but the modelling promises go largely unfulfilled and the rolling waistband is a genuine practical drawback. She plans to revisit the dress and shoe combination with a different pair of tights to see whether the outfit works better without the structural upper section showing.
