Tienda Canela is a hosiery retailer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and this is Luna’s first purchase from the shop. The product is the classic pair of opaque black tights that most women rely on as a wardrobe staple: the kind that gets worn the most and, precisely for that reason, wears out the fastest. The pantyhose come in a transparent bag with a cardboard insert and are sized by number; Luna chose size three, noting that sizing varies from brand to brand and that she sometimes falls between sizes two and three.

Before trying them on, Luna examines the tights out of the packaging. The fabric feels soft and of good quality to the touch, and the waistband elastic looks sturdy. Once worn, she confirms that size three fits her well, with the waistband sitting comfortably in place. The opacity is not total: the tights are dense enough to be worn during the day without any shine, but light enough to let her tattoos show through slightly, a detail she appreciates. On closer inspection she notices a few fine lines in the fabric, possibly caused by her rings while putting them on, which does not stop her from wearing them but does raise a question about the fabric’s resistance.

The idea is to create a contrast between the delicate dress and the more sophisticated black legs, extending the life of the dress beyond spring and summer and making it suitable for an evening out with a jacket or cardigan on top.

The second look is a two-piece outfit: a small cropped cotton top with black and white stripes and dropped shoulders, worn with a brown suede skirt with a vintage 70s feel that Luna particularly loves. Paired with comfortable flat shoes, this is the outfit she sees herself wearing to university, to work or to visit a friend, a versatile everyday look where the black tights add a touch of elegance without stealing the scene.
