Watch Laura’s full review of the Fiore Nude Hold-Ups with White Polka Dots 20 Den. These are a pair of self-supporting hold-up stockings sent to Laura for review, and she walks through the packaging, the fabric, and the fit across two different outfits so you can get a thorough look at how they wear in practice.
The stockings arrive in neat, standard packaging typical of hold-ups and tights. On first inspection out of the packet they feel very soft to the touch, and the fabric has a good stretch to it, including across the foot area. Laura is wearing size S, which she notes corresponds to her usual small sizing, and the range is available in multiple sizes.
The colour story of these hold-ups is what makes them distinctive. The leg is a nude, skin-tone brown, described as a lighter caramel shade, while the thigh band area deepens to a darker brown. Across the centre of the leg runs the signature detail: small white polka dots scattered over the sheer fabric. The thigh band itself features lace embroidery, which gives the stocking a delicate, feminine finish at the top.
Key product details at a glance:
- Denier: 20 den, giving a sheer, lightweight appearance
- Colour: nude and brown two-tone with white polka dot pattern
- Thigh band: darker brown with lace embroidery detail
- Sizing tried: size S
- Foot: elasticated and comfortable across the sole
- Hold: silicone grip band keeps them firmly in place at the thigh
Worn standing and seated across two outfits, both pairing the hold-ups with black dresses and black court shoes, the stockings stayed firmly adhered to the thigh throughout. Laura notes that the classic challenge with hold-ups is slipping after the second or third wear, and while this was her first time wearing them she was pleased with how securely they gripped. Seated, they remained flat and snug against the leg without sliding down.
On styling, Laura acknowledges the two-tone brown palette is a little outside her usual preference for black hosiery, and she notes that the combination of nude, brown, and white dots does not perfectly match an all-black outfit. Her recommendation is to pair these with brown or earthy tones, such as a brown skirt, camel blouse, or brown ankle boots, where the colour of the stocking will complement the look more naturally.

Overall Laura finds the Fiore hold-ups comfortable enough for everyday daytime wear, whether for work, shopping, or casual outings, and considers them a feminine, well-made option. They are not her personal everyday style but she gives them a positive verdict for comfort, fit, and the quality of the hold at the thigh band, and she sees them working particularly well as a daytime stocking rather than a purely evening piece.
