Mesh and Patterned Tights Review by Honey

Watch Honey’s full review of the Mesh and Patterned Tights. In this episode, Honey is joined by her co-presenter Fede, and the two review a pair each, both from the brand Gi&Gi. Honey tries a leopard-print patterned tight while Fede tests a wide-mesh style, giving viewers a side-by-side comparison across different outfits and body types.

Honey’s leopard-print pair is a 40 denier tight in size S/M, made from 93% polyamide, 6% elastane, and 1% cotton. It features a full panty body and a reinforced gusset. Honey notes the cotton content as a welcome addition for comfort. The fit is described as good for her size, though she observes that the leopard pattern stretches noticeably on the thigh area, making the design look larger and less defined than it appears flat.

Fede’s choice is a very wide-mesh tight, also Gi&Gi, selected out of curiosity since she had never worn such a large-gauge mesh before. She found the mesh extremely stretchy and very soft to the touch, but struggled to put them on because her fingers kept slipping through the large holes during the process.

Key observations from both presenters across the review:

  • Leopard print: pattern distorts on the thigh, appearing oversized when worn
  • Mesh gauge: extremely wide, described as unusually large even by mesh standards
  • Elasticity: the mesh tight is highly stretchy, to the point of feeling loose and shapeless on the leg
  • Toe seam: minimal and flat, with only a small single-point closure rather than a full sewn seam
  • Heel fit: on Fede's pair the heel panel migrated completely out of position, causing discomfort in shoes
  • Opacity: Honey's patterned tight is not fully opaque, skin remains visible through the weave, but the coverage is solid enough to breathe
  • Panty body: the full-round body on Honey's pair stays in place without rolling

On comfort, Honey rates her leopard-print pair positively overall, calling it very soft and noting the seam underfoot is simple and unobtrusive. Fede is less satisfied: the mesh does not cling to the leg, sags at the calf and back of the leg, and the displaced heel made wearing shoes uncomfortable. Both presenters attempted outfit changes to find more flattering combinations, agreeing that a plain, solid-coloured dress works better with both styles than a busy or matching print.

Honey’s verdict on her leopard-print tights is moderately positive. She would consider buying another pair in a different colour or more subdued pattern, and feels the construction quality is sound. Fede’s verdict on the wide-mesh pair is clear: she would not buy them again, finding the large gauge unflattering, impractical, and uncomfortable in shoes. She acknowledges the quality of the fabric itself is not poor, but the style simply does not work for her and she does not expect to wear them a second time.
