Watch Chiara Kia’s full review of the Obsessive Fishnet Stockings with Faux Leather Band. These stockings arrived from Kessía Stockings and caught Chiara’s attention right away for their distinctive two-part design: a faux leather top band paired with a fishnet lower section, all in black.
Opening the box, Chiara reads through the materials listed on the packaging. The band is constructed with an outer layer of polyurethane over an inner lining of polyester and elastane, while the stocking itself is made from polyamide with a good percentage of elastane, which she notes should allow it to adapt well to the leg and hold its shape during wear.
Chiara tried the stockings with two different outfits to show the range of styling options. Here are the key observations she made during the try-on:
- Faux leather band: sits close against the skin and allows the stockings to be worn like hold-ups without a suspender belt
- Mesh density: medium, neither too tight nor too wide, which Chiara describes as more wearable than a coarse wide-net fishnet
- Leg line: the black net flatters the leg shape well when standing
- Staying power: stockings remained firmly in place during movement in the first outfit, though the right stocking slipped slightly when seated in the second look
- Band thickness: the top border is fairly wide, which Chiara notes could make it tricky to fit under a suspender belt clip if one chose to use one
- Styling verdict: more nightclub than formal dinner, though the second outfit, a fitted asymmetric dress, pushed them toward a smarter occasion look
For the first outfit Chiara paired the stockings with a very short mini dress, wearing them as hold-ups. She chose shoes that matched the material tone of the stockings to avoid breaking up the look. She describes the overall effect as high-glamour but firmly on the party end of the spectrum rather than classic elegance.
The second outfit was an asymmetric fitted dress with a shoulder cut-out, and Chiara aimed for something closer to a dinner or first-date look. She experimented with ankle boots, acknowledging that this style of footwear cuts the leg line at the worst possible point, but noted that the dark stocking helps soften that break in colour at the ankle compared to a bare leg.
One practical note from the review: during the seated portions of the second outfit, the right stocking began to slide down. Chiara attributes this more to the product than to the wearer, reasoning that if it were a fit issue it would have affected both legs equally. This is worth bearing in mind if extended sitting is likely. Overall she comes away satisfied with the mesh quality and the hold-up wearability, while flagging the sliding issue as a minor but genuine drawback.
